Description: No 12. Moon on the sea at Daimotsu – Benkei (Daimotsu kaijō no tsuki - Benkei 大物海上月 弁慶 from the series One hundred aspects of the moon (Tsuki hyakushi月百姿). Published by Akiyama Buemon in January 1886. Musashibō Benkei 武蔵坊弁慶 (1155-1189) quelling a storm with prayers and magic spells. The storm is raised by the ghosts of the conquered Taira worriors. Benkei was a famous warrior monk who served Minamoto no Yoshitsune (源 義経 1159-1189).
