Description: Emperor Godaigo dreaming of ghosts at his imperial palace Kasagiyama (後醍醐帝/笠置山皇居霊夢之図). After the emperor's plans to overthrow the Kamakura Shogunate were discovered, he fled to Kasagiyama, hiding the Sacred Treasures there and raising an army to defend himself. Here, he has fallen asleep over a low red lacquer table and is dreaming. Two ghostly figures wearing white and pale pink robes, appear in a wisp of smoke at the left. Dated 1898.
